Join Our Team of Precision Engineers in our Toolmaker Position
We’re Measom Freer – a long-established, family-run business specialising in the design and manufacture of high-quality plastic packaging and components. Our on-site toolroom is essential to everything we do. We’re now looking for an experienced Toolmaker to help us create and maintain the injection and blow mould tooling that keeps our production running to the highest standards.
This is a rewarding, hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their craft and enjoys solving engineering challenges in a supportive, well-equipped environment.
What You’ll Be Doing

Manufacturing, assembling, and maintaining blow mould and injection mould tooling.

Reading technical drawings and 3D CAD models to produce precision tools.

Setting up and operating both manual and CNC machines (milling, turning, grinding).

Programming CNC machines (conversational programming e.g. Heidenhain).

Diagnosing and repairing tooling issues to minimise downtime.

Supporting tooling improvements, upgrades, and new developments.

Collaborating with our production, design, and quality teams.

Keeping accurate records of maintenance work.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:

Time-served Toolmaker (apprenticeship or equivalent experience).

Background in either injection or blow mould toolmaking.

Skilled in manual machining and CNC programming.

Strong attention to detail and fault-finding skills.

Ability to work from CAD and engineering drawings.
Nice to Have:

Experience with hot runner systems or multi-cavity tooling.

Knowledge of CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks, Edgecam).

Experience with continuous improvement or lean principles.

Understanding of plastic mould tool design.
