How long have you worked for Measom Freer?
I joined Measom Freer in November 2023. I’m originally from Devon and moved to Leicester in 2016.
What are the main responsibilities in your role?
As sales administrator I’m the first point of contact for customers getting in touch with the business. I’m responsible for processing purchase orders, dealing with customer enquiries and invoices.
What can be the most challenging parts of the job?
I love investigating and problem solving. If a customer has a quirky enquiry or is looking for a plastic bottle that isn’t run of the mill, I really enjoy trying to find a solution.
What qualifications or training do you draw upon in the role?
I’m a people person and have always worked in customer service roles.
Back home in Devon I worked for a ceramic tile company for 12 years and worked my way up from office administrator to sales representative. I regularly travelled to Northeast America for product training and had the opportunity to visit some amazing places from Maine all the way down to New Jersey. The customer service in the USA is second to none and that experience has stayed with me ever since.
During my time in America, I met my husband Jonny, who is from Leicester, at Washington D.C. airport. The rest, as they say, is history!
What do you enjoy about working for Measom Freer?
I love the family dynamic, everyone is so caring, positive and approachable.
From a customer service perspective we give great service, our standards are high and we have short lead times for production which is a big selling point for us.
What is the work-related accomplishment in your career to date that you are most proud of?
Although my role is sales administrator I enjoy contributing to the sales achievements of the team. I always get a buzz when I know that potential customers I have spoken to have converted into sales.
What is the best bit of advice you would give somebody starting at Measom Freer?
Everyone is friendly and approachable, eager and happy to help you. We have a great atmosphere and team dynamic.
How would you describe the business in three words?
Successful, professional, family culture.
What are your interests outside of work?
I love exploring the Leicestershire countryside with my three-year-old sprocker Storm, my five-year-old son Morgan and husband Jonny, I also like socialising, going to the cinema, and having family time.
I also try to visit my family and friends in Devon as much as possible.
Tell us an interesting fact about you.
As a child I owned a horse and spent much of my childhood at the stables. I took part in many horse riding competitions and at the age of 18 I was invited to compete on behalf of the British Showjumping Association.
