How long have you worked for Measom Freer?
I officially joined the business in my current role in February 2025 but Measom Freer has been part of my life from a very young age.
At 16 I worked as a machine operator and in despatch and I’d often come into the business during school holidays and for colleague celebrations such as retirements and long service.
What are the main responsibilities in your role? What does a normal day look like?
I’m responsible for three areas: sales, marketing and SEO. On a day-to-day basis I process customer orders, send quotes, speak to customers and liaise with despatch regarding deliveries.
I’m also responsible for the delivery of our email and LinkedIn marketing campaigns. As part of my role I’ll ensure that our target customer databases are up to date, images are ready and copy is drafted for the month ahead.
An area of my role that I have found interesting and rewarding is looking after our SEO. I’ve spent a lot of time improving our Google search rankings and ensuring our website is in good health.
What can be the most challenging parts of the job? How do you address these challenges?
The most challenging part of my role can be time management and balancing all aspects of my role. I designate specific days for the different areas of my role and set realistic timeframes to achieve tasks.
What qualifications or training do you draw upon in the role?
I have a degree in business management from Leeds Beckett University. This has helped me to understand things like business terminology and strategy.
More recently, I’ve completed two online SEO courses, SEO Basics and SEO in Action. Both have been really useful to understand ways we can improve our search rankings and be visible to wider target audiences.
Being part of a family business I’ve also got a lot of lived experience of the business, which has definitely helped to understand the long-term vision of the company.
What roles have you done prior?
I’ve undertaken various roles at Measom Freer from working on the factory floor and despatch, to taking product photos for the company website.
What do you enjoy about working for Measom Freer?
I enjoy the collaborative nature of the business. Everyone is open to ideas and suggestions and more than happy to offer support where needed.
What is the work-related accomplishment in your career to date that you are most proud of?
I’m most proud of the SEO improvements and marketing campaigns I have been involved in. The work has made a huge difference in the success of our sales leads and search rankings. It’s really rewarding to see that it’s made a huge difference, really rewarding to see that come to fruition.
What is the best bit of advice you would give somebody starting at Measom Freer?
Don’t be afraid to ask as many questions as you have. Everyone is happy to support you.

What are your interests outside of work?
I’m a big American Football fan. I especially enjoy rooting against Ben Freer’s team, the Green Bay Packers when they are playing my team, the Atlanta Falcons. I also enjoy cooking and going to the gym.
